THe Art of Firearms
Hojutsu-Ryu

What is Hojutsu-Ryu?
Hojutsu is the ancient Japanese word for "the Art of Gunnery."

As practiced today, Hojutsu-Ryu is the combination of the Modern Technique of the Pistol and traditional Japanese budo.  Hojutsu trains in various firearms, including handgun, rifle and shotgun; we also train in unarmed defense, various impact weapons, edged weapons and ground fighting.  However, Hojutsu is primarily a shooting art.

According to Lt. Col. David Grossman: "I am a graduate of Front Sight, Gun Site, Sig Arms Academy and many military and mil spec ops schools.  And this three day Hojutsu class is the best firearms training I have ever experienced.  It brought me up to a whole new level  of personal performance.  Soke Hall is a supernatural shooter.  Far and away the best shot I have ever seen.  He is a legendary law enforcement officer, Army Ranger, and much more.”  Lt. Col. David Grossman is a Retired Army Ranger, Former Instructor at West Point, Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, world's authority on school shootings.

In addition to teaching Hojutsu-Ryu, U.S. Family Martial Arts has hosted Soke Jeff Hall, the founder of this art, for firearms seminars in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

After Lt. Col. Dave Grossman introduced us to Hojutsu-Ryu in 2013, we hosted "Force Options" with Soke Jeff Hall in August 2013, September 2014, August 2015 and again in August 2016.  This seminar, which focused on pistol techniques, included an introduction to Hojutsu-Ryu and Force Options.  During training, students were able to practice with live firearms with one of the world's most outstanding leaders and instructors.

Congratulations to Sharon and Mike Talpas for earning their blue belts! In addition, Steve Pronko and Steve Klauz earned their orange belts! Everyone did an amazing job!  A great big thanks to Soke Jeff Hall and Larry Walsh for another great shooting seminar!
